Now listen carefully.

We have but one earth. And, you can do something to protect it. t

Taking our DK Series for what it's worth, you'll be doing something good for the environment. We're talking about reducing NOx, SOx and C02 emissions to below IMO levels. What's more, you don't loose on engine fuel consumption factor in the process. Less pollutants in the atmosphere and less use of valuable fuel resources. That's a double-punch for environmental protection.

With the DK Series, we've done something / ^— about protecting the environment.

Nera Puts Spotlight

On R&D

Realizing that telecommunications products have a short lifecycle,

Norway's Nera has a proven commit- ment to devoting ample resources to new R&D. On average, Nera spends eight percent of its total turnover on

R&D efforts. In the long-term, antic- ipated customer needs within the next three to five years basically determine the agenda when new

R&D projects are launched.

Areas of concentration for Nera's

R&D programs include high-frequen- cy microelectronics up to 30 GHz, modulation methods and signal pro- cessing for STM-4, new digital solu- tions for power network telecommu- nications and technology for hand- held mobile satcom systems and management networks. Product size reductions, less bandwidth, lower cost, greater flexibility and efficient operations are constant goals.

Q-Mar System Provides

Peace Of Mind

The advent of electronic naviga- tion, particularly that of GPS and

DGPS, has so thoroughly changed the manner in which vessels are navigated that at times it seems unreal, even to those most inti- mately involved. The captains of

Oceanex have found the new navi- gation technology to provide a high level of comfort and safety, helping to reduce stress onboard, particu- larly when navigating the confined waters of the St. Lawrence Seaway channels. Oceanex has incorporat- ed a system from Q-Mar on the bridges of two vessels, Cicero and

Cabot. The Q-Mar system has proven to be a valuable naviga- tional aid.
