Double-Hull VICC New

Vista Completed on the Middle East-U.S. route.

New Vista is equipped with wing ballast tanks to ensure well- balanced hull strength, and make the hull lighter by reducing the amount of strengthening steel members needed. Inside the dou- ble-hull structure, access trunks from the top deck to the double bottom improve ventilation and facilitate inspection work within the double hull.

In accordance with SOLAS rules, the tanker provides its crew with safe access to the emergency towing equipment at the forward deck in bad weather. To increase the tanker's propulsion efficiency, it has been fitted with a large bul- bous bow below the water line and a Hitachi Zosen super stream duct nozzle in front of the propeller. The outer hull has been coated with self-polishing copolymer (SPC) paint designed to ensure long-term hull-fouling prevention.
