ACR Electronics offers the RapidFix 406, a 406 mHz EPIRB with GPS interface.

According to the com- pany, the RapidFix 406 is the next generation of EPIRB, providing an entirely new functionality to the satel- lite-aided search and rescue system by using a GPS NMEA 0183 interface to add latitude/longitude coordinates to the emergency signal transmitted by the unit. The unit measures 3.7 x 7.2 x 4.3 in., and weighs two lbs.

PORT ENGINEER

We are seeking a Chief Engineer of ocean vessels with at least 8 years experience as an onboard engineer and 3 years of technical marine supervision. Passenger ship experience helpful. You will be responsible for all repair and maintenance activities, follow and control planned maintenance, inventories and dry dock, support installations and modifications of new systems onboard the vessels and preparation of vessel budget. You must also be able to manage technical projects and write technical reports. Knowledge of Lotus/Excel for Windows, MS

English (oral and written] are essential. Availability to travel on short notice is necessary. This position reports to Director of Repair and Maintenance.

PORT ELECTRONIC ENGINEER

We reauire at least 3 years experience on a passenger or cargo snip as a Chief Electrician or in a similar capacity, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic

Engineering, specialty certification from the Maritime Institute or equivalent work experience. Reporting to the Manager of

Marine Electrical Engineering, your primary responsibilities will include coordinating electrical and electronic service activities onboard ships, coordinating electrical/electronic projects on existing ships and new shipbuilding plus assisting

Port Engineers in resolving electrical issues.
