Boatracs recently participated in a maritime security exercise co-sponsored by the Transportation Security

Administration (TSA), Regional

Maritime Security Coalition (RMSC),

Oregon Emergency Management (OEM), and the states of Washington,

Oregon, and Idaho. The security exer- cise was designed to test maritime com- munication systems and track cargo movement along the Columbia and

Last month Rolls-Royce Naval Marine

Inc. broke ground for the expansion of its foundry in Pascagoula, Miss., signal- ing the importance of the U.S. market in the company's future. The 18,000 sq. ft. facility is designed to enhance manufac- turing capabilities and improve produc- tion efficiency across a range of pro- pellers and submarine propulsors. "The expansion of this facility demon- strates our commitment to our cus- tomers," said Patrick J. Marolda,

The facility offers 15,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space and will house a 10 m gantry milling machine able to machine propellers up to eight meters in diameter. The Cranesmart System displays load on the hook, maximum rated capacity, load moment, radius, boom angle and anti-two-block function, without the need for cable reels, hydraulic hoses, or moving parts.

Cranesmart Systems are shipped pre- calibrated, and are designed for self-cal- ibration, eliminating the need for test weights or complicated re-calibration procedures. Systems install normally within a couple of hours.
