Wartsila Sells High-Speed

Engine Rights to Dresser

Wartsila sold the product rights of the high-speed Wartsila 200 and 220 prod- uct family to Dresser Inc.'s Waukesha business unit. Wartsila will continue to provide service for the engine base.

Wartsila is also negotiating the trans- fer of its production in Mulhouse,

France, to another company. Wartsilii's production in Mulhouse ceases at the end of 2004. This transaction is part of

Wartsilii's ongoing restructuring pro- gram and the company's aim to focus on its strong products. The main products in Wartsilii's engine portfolio are medi- um-speed and low-speed engines.
