Jurrien Noot is a former naval intelligence officer of the Royal
Netherlands Navy. He served on the staff of the Supreme Allied
Commander Atlantic from 1985-1992. During his career he was involved in the analysis of world naval capabilities and naval con- struction. Together with Norman Polmar he was co-author of "Submarines of the Russian and Soviet Navies 1718-1990", pub- lished by the US Naval Institute in 1991. He retired from the navy in 1999 and was a consultant editor for the Jane's Information
Group from 2002-2008, responsible for ‘Jane's Naval Construc- tion and Retrofit Markets’. 20 24 30
