NOL Group announced the resignationof Eng Aik Meng as President of its APL shipping business. The container trans- portation and logistics group has namedKenneth Glenn, currently President of its North Asia Region, as his replacement. NOL said Mr. Eng will leave the com- pany September 1, 2011, to take a new position outside the transportation indus-try. Mr. Eng joined APL in 1993, holding positions in Strategic Planning and as head of its Intra-Asia Trade. He left in 2007, but returned in 2008 as President of APL. Mr. Glenn is a 32-year industry veteran, who joined APL in 2000. He was the company's top executive in India when it introduced that country's first pri- vate freight-rail business, IndiaLinx, in 2007. Since January 2009, he has been North Asia President. Mr. Glenn was the Senior Vice President in charge of APLs Asia-Europe Trade from 2000 to 2005. Before joining APL, Mr. Glenn spent 21 years with Sea-Land Corporation in avariety of executive roles, including Vice President of the Asia-Europe and Atlantic Tradelanes and Vice President and Gen- eral Manager for the former Soviet Union. APL is the world's seventh-largest container shipping line. It is a leader in the Intra-Asia and Trans-Pacific trades. 78Maritime Reporter & Engineering News New ABS Management Team ABS announced aseries of manage-ment appoint-ments, following the appointment ofChristopher J.Wiernicki as the new CEO, in con- cert with the recentnaming of Todd Grove as CTO. Joining Wier- nickis new man- agement team isRobert Gilman, asPresident and COO of ABS Americas Division. Assisting Gilman will be Derek Novak, as VP Vice President, Operations and Matt Tremblay who will replace Novak as VP, Engineering for the ABS Americas Division. The new President and COO of the ABS Pacific Division will be Eric Kleess. Taking over as President and COO of the ABS Greater China Divi- sion will be Richard Pride. In the ABS Europe Division, John McDonald re- cently assumed the position of Presi-dent and COO. The ABS NS Division continues to be led by Karen Hughey, President and COO. Through the ap- pointment of Demetri Stroubakis asSenior Vice President, Global Opera- tions the organization is increasing its focus on service delivery for its ex- panding client base. Mark McGrath, currently President and COO of theABS Pacific Division, will transfer to ABS HQ to serve as the Corporate Training Officer. Adam Moilanen will transfer to ABS HQ as VP and Chief of Staff. Robert Giuffra has been ap- pointed to serve as Senior VVP, Quality and Service. Dr. Kirsi Tikka will as- sume the position of VP and Chief En- gineer for ABS. Kenneth Glenn will replace him. Odfjell Names Iversen SVP/CFOOdfjell appointed Terje Iversen as new SVP/CFO for Odfjell SE. He will start inthis position not later than September 1,2011. Iversen is currently employed by the maritime industrial company Bergen Group ASA as CFO. Odfjell's present CFO, Haakon Ringdal, is appointed Ex- ecutive Vice President in Odfjell SE. In this role he will act as deputy for thePresident/CEO.New President of BMT Fleet BMT Fleet Tech- nology Ltd, a sub-sidiary of BMTGroup Ltd. ap-pointed Dr. Gordon Fleming as Presi-dent. Dr. Fleming joins BMT from Rolls Royce where he led the companys activity with respect to the new Canadian Naval and Coastguard Shipbuilding Programs that are unfold- ing as part of the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy. Gjesdal Appointed CFO of Kvaerner Eiliv Gjesdal has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Kvaerner. Gjesdal is following the appointment of Jan Arve Haugan as President and CEO. Gjesdal joined Aker Solutions in 2002. Gilje New VP of L-3 Valmarine L-3 Valmarine ap- pointed John EgilGilje as vice presi-dent and directorSales & Marketing of L-3 Valmarine.
