As this position is the first point of contact for digital systemanomalies, the incumbent will be on call and available on a24/7 basis. Outside from emergencies, the incumbent is expected to work on the maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of the digital systems on various WSF vessel classes. Theywill also enhance and fine tune the existing preventative maintenance plan for these systems and turn it into aproactive tool that includes the mission of the Vessel Maintenance, Preservation, and Engineering department: systems safety, reliability, and efficiency. In addition, this person will be part of a team that develops and evaluates new and retrofit digital systems. This position requires a self-starter who has the drive and willingness to learn and keep updated on the software and systems side while keeping abreast of developments in the industry. WSF relies on their input regarding improvements and upgrades of existing equipment as well as planningand evaluation of future systems for new vessel construc- tion.
