Booklet Available From Kaiser Chemicals On Corrosion Protection

The use of aluminum alloy anodes to provide improved cathodic protection for offshore oil structures and vessels is the subject of a booklet available from Kaiser Chemicals. It offers corrosion engineers guidance on anode selection and essential factors in the design of a more efficient cathodic protection system, and includes a detailed anode selection nomograph and drawings of typical anode cross sections and cores. Other photos and drawings illustrate aluminum anodes in flush-mounted hull, ballast tank, heater treater, and multipurpose applications. The company, which has a marine anode production capacity of 10 million pounds annually, also uses the booklet to discuss the importance of continuing research and quality control in the production of efficient corrosion control products.
