CHIEF ESTIMATOR
MARINEENGINEERING
A progressive shipyard located in Quebec with a worldwide reputation for excellence in building and refitting a wide range of commercial and military vessels, is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced ship estimator, capable of dealing with large complex shipbuilding problems and well versed in innovative cost reduction technology.
The mandate calls for outstanding skills in coordinating preliminary costing studies, detailed estimating and value engineering, relating to machinery, hull, electrical power, electronics and outfitting. Will be working with the most technologically advanced concepts using the ultimate in design flexibility and efficiency in building military ships.
Background in shipbuilding work is preferred and not essential. The ideal candidate has gained a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in directing a successful estimating department and could have been instrumental in coordinating all activities of a newly formed estimating section. Computer knowledge is not mandatory but would be a definite asset.
