Weeks Jamestown Inc. (WJI) completed a five-day training course in Jamestown to additionally qualify its West Coast Salvage Engineers in

HECSALV, a Salvage Engineering

PC-based computer program.

HECSALV gives real-time answers to salvage problems and is accepted as the salvage program adopted to meet all requirements of the U.S.

Coast Guard regulation which tight- ens up OPA 90 requirements for tank ships and offshore tank barges.

WJI sent a number of East and

West Coast Salvage Engineers to attend the course.

For New Marine Simulator

Europe's newest marine simulation research and training center, has selected Sperry Marine equipment for the new facility.

Five Sperry Marine Voyage Man- agement System (VMS) integrated bridges, complete with SeaNET lo- 2al area networks and RASCAR ra- iar/ARPAs, plus other equipment, vere used to outfit the new research ind training center in the former lolland-America Line Terminal at he Wilhelminapier in the center of 'otterdam. The 3,400-sq.-m. facil- y consists of five bridge simulators icluding a full mission 360-degree idge with a motion base to simu- te sea conditions, two 225-degree idges and two radar/ARPA bridge nulators. One of the radar/ARPA nulators is configured as the idge of a self-propelled inland rge and is equipped with a Sperry irine River Radar.
