De and Hai Yang, were respectively fitted with gas turbines and diesel engines. Yuet Hing Marine Sup- plies of Hong Kong ordered the ships, on behalf of the Shun Gang Passen- ger Transportation Corp. (ShunDe), and the Aihuhai Jiuzhou Port Ship- ping Co. (Hai Yong). They will join a fleet of 21 Austal-built ferries al- ready servicing the Hong Kong and

Guangdong region.

Shun De has a service speed of 40 knots, and a passenger capacity of 332.Shun De represents the owner's fourth Austal-built vessel, and sec- ond gas turbine ferry, and will re- place an original vessel of the same name which has been sold to an- other area operator. Hai Yang has a service speed of 33.5 knots, and a passenger capacity of 338. Both vessels share the dimensions of 131.5 ft. (40.1 m) by 37.7 ft. (11.5 m) by 4.59 ft. (1.4 m).
