MAN B&W's K98MC was cho- sen for Hapag-Lloyd's latest con- tainership building program, three 4,800-TEU ships booked at Korea's
Hyundai Heavy Industries. Each ship will sport a seven-cylinder version of the 98 cm design, which develops 54,460 bhp at 94 rpm.
The selection was reportedly influ- enced by the engine's shorter length, which releases additional space for containers.
