LR Offers New Safety
Workshop
Lloyd's Register (LR) will hold a workshop on the new Control of
Major Accident Hazards
Regulations (COMAH) on
Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at the Birchwood Conference Center,
Warrington. The one-day work- shop is aimed at those in the chem- ical industry responsible for com- pliance with the new legislation.

Tenders In 1999
Congressman Jay Johnson has reported that $72.6 million was included in the FY 99 budget for the acquisition of two WLB
Class Buoy Tenders. This is in addition to the two tenders award- ed to Marinette Marine in
September. Congressman Johnson is a member of the House
Transportation Subcommittee of the U. S. Coast Guard. There remain seven additional tenders left to be funded by Congress.
Marinette Marine expects the
USCG to exercise the option to build these two cutters in January of 1999, with construction to begin in late 1999.
