Hempel: Expands in U.S.

Hempel USA opened a warehouse and distributorship in Seattle, extending the company’s commitment to providing customers with top quality products and services.

Hempel teamed with Rudd Company, who is also a paint and coatings manu- facturer specializing in wood treatment.

Rudd is located in downtown Ballard, with a 150,000 sq. ft. warehouse, manu- facturing plant and retail store, and has been servicing the

Great Northwest since 1912.

Hempel’s main products, such as shop primers, fouling release solutions, an- tifoulings, epoxies, and topcoats, among others, are stored in this location. In ad- dition, on-site tinting will be available to provide for the timely supply of products required by the customer.

National Shipping Company of Saudi

Arabia (NSCSA) achieved fuel savings and emissions reductions since adopting

Intersleek coatings technology on the hulls of eight VLCCs. The decision in 2006 by the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA), to apply In- tersleek 700 on the hulls of eight VLCCs has resulted in fuel savings of more than 6% and CO2 emissions cuts running into many thousands of tons.
