SUNY Maritime offers an array of employment opportunities stemming from entry level to professional positions which encourage growth and development among its employees.Job Description: Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of shipboard equipment to include electric motors and controls, diesels, pumps and compressors, refrigeration plants, high-pressure boilers and steam turbines.  Speci cally responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of the ship?s boiler and the fuel oil system.  Responsible for fuel oil transfer and all boiler operations. Responsible for daily maintenance of the ship?s boiler; to supervise daily testing of boiler water.  Assisting the Chief Engineer in the supervision, opera-tion, maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, piping, electrical systems, controls in the engine room, and other areas supervised by the ship?s Engineering and deck departments  Maintaining records of machinery repaired and inven- tory of consumed stores, liquid supplies, and spare parts; preparing machinery for annual inspection by the United States Coast Guard and American Bureau of Shipping  Planning the cadet maintenance and repair work sched- ules Serving as a liaison to various agencies and businesses. Working directly with the Cadet shipboard training pro- gram, and those assigned to administer the program.  Other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer Assisting with Shipboard training and instruction as as- signedRequirements: Required:  Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering  USCG Second Assistant Engineers license, steam/mo-tor, unlimited horsepower.  Experience in pipe tting, welding, lathe and machine shop practices is also required.  Good communication skills and a desire to teach as they will also be directly involved in the supervision and training of Cadets. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.  Desire to work in a student-oriented environment Preferred:  Knowledge of the maritime industry Upper level USCG Engineers license, and minimum 3 years sailing experience. Experience as Second Assistant Engineer, steam desir- able.(206) [email protected] Established 1969 Maritime Recruiters MR Dec12.indd 112/18/2012 11:44:57 AMEASTERN SHIPBUILDING GROUP An aggressive leader in the Marine Industry, located in Panama City, FL Qualications include: >BS in Construction Management or Engineering Technology preferred, plus 3-5 years eld experience in quantity take o and estimating; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. >Advanced working knowledge of all Microsoft Oce Suite applications (includes Excel and MS Project), AutoCad and Estimating software. >Strong verbal and written communication skills.
