OceanSaver CCO Tor Atle Eiken re- ports that OceanSaver said it has re- ceived a rush of ballast water treatment (BWT) system orders for large vessels.

The Norwegian fi rm, a BWT specialist developing solutions since 2003, has won orders for more than 40 systems in the last six months, with some 21 units delivered so far this year.

Stevens Institute of Technology was selected as the lead institution for a new

Center of Excellence for Maritime Re- search (CMR). The selection, announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland

Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate will provide Stevens with $2 million per year for fi ve years.

The Center will also include the follow- ing partner institutions: MIT, University of Miami, Rutgers University, Univer- sity of Puerto Rico and Elizabeth City
