    Mr. Tregurtha stated that, "This appointment was made in recognition of Captain van Lier's leadership role in starting Moore Mc- Cormack Bulk Transport and in the development of our liquefied natural gas transportation project.

    Captain van Lier has responsibility for all our oceangoing bulk shipping activities." He has been president of Moore McCormack Bulk Transport since it was formed in 1974. A native of Holland, his previous experience was with the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies, where he held various positions all over the world for nearly 35 years. He holds a Master Mariner's license, and has some 20 years of merchant marine service, including about three years as a Suez Canal Pilot.
