McLane Research Laboratories, Inc. was founded in 1983 to manufacture and develop advanced time-series instrumenta- tion to the international oceanographic community. Through its long-term research, development programs, and association with diverse research projects, McLane has established a sig- ni? cant base of knowledge and proven technology in support of its objective. In addition to a number of successful technol- ogy transfers, the company maintains signi? cant development capabilities.

McLane instruments are all designed to withstand the rigors of long term open ocean and freshwater deployments. The com- pany produces three main product lines: pro? lers, samplers and ? otation. Within pro? lers, McLane offers the Ice Tethered Pro- ? ler (ITP) and the McLane Moored Pro? ler (MMP).
