Hydrophone-equipped Slocum gliders are listening for the calls of North Atlantic right whales and transmitting the animals’ locations in near-real-time to ships and vessels in the area. Re- sults from the work aim to reduce the number of whale-ship collisions and are assisting with the protection of critical whale habitats.
