We've made something that goes 'way down so man's knowledge can go 'way up. It's the Shinkai ?a very special research submarine that we built for the Japanese government's Maritime Safety Agency. Its name means "Deep Sea". And on its first trial run recent-ly, it dived to 600 meters (1,980 feet), testing its wide array of scientific equipment. The Shinkai will be used to enlarge our understanding of the sea depths around Japan and the life that is found there. We've acquired quite a bit of knowledge at Kawasaki. And we put a lot of it to use in building the Shinkai. Our technical abilities also go to work on things like giant 300,000 dwt tankers. We bring out skiils to tasks like building, repairing, refitting and remodeling other craft like bulk carriers, combined bulk carriers, cargo liners and refrigerated fruit carriers. And we know a lot about U-Plant power systems, M.A.N, diesel engines and electro-hydraulic steering gears. Plus a wide range of auxiliary marine machinery. No matter what your marine needs or problems are, call Kawasaki. We'll dig deep to come up with the right answer for you. We've got a new name! We used to be Kawasaki Dockyard. Now we've merged with Kawasaki Aircraft Co. and Kawasaki Rolling Stock Mfg. Co. And now we're Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Now with more than 28,000 skilled people .. .with combined technical know-how and abilities . . . with more flexibility. Now we can serve you better than ever before! ® KAWASAKI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD. Building economical ships is our profession HEAD OFFICE: Kobe, Japan (Cable: KAWADOCK HEAD, Telex No. 5622-355) ?
