Three To Company Officers

Lester Rosenblatt, president and chairman of the board of M.

Rosenblatt & Son, Inc., one of the nation's leading independent naval architectural and marine engineering firms, recently an- nounced the promotions of Zack- ary Awer and Stephen Halpern to vice president, and Stephen Dun- lap to assistant vice president. years' experience in project man- agement for the design of ship- board electrical/electronics sys- tems. As manager of the branch, he is responsible for providing design services to the Navy and the commercial shipbuilding in- dustry in the Charleston area. He is a graduate electrical engineer and a licensed P.E. in the state of South Carolina.

Approve Title XI Guarantee

For 3 Tug/Supply Vessels

The Maritime Administration recently approved in principle an application from Linden, Inc.,

New Orleans, La., for a Title XI guarantee to aid in financing the construction of three 2,500-hp tug/'supply vessels.

Built by Zigler Shipyards, Jen- nings, La., and delivered earlier this year, the 165-foot vessels are designed primarily for com- mercial use in support of offshore oil and natural gas exploration and production. The approved guarantee is for $7,929,000, or up to 871/-: percent of the vessels' depreciated actual cost.

Zackary Awer

Mr. Awer, a graduate mechan- ical engineer, has been the head of the mechanical department in

New York since 1957. With his extensive experience in shipboard hull machinery and cargo and weapons handling systems, he has been directly involved in both con- ceptual and detail design for na- val and commercial vessels.

Stephen Halpern

Mr. Halpern, a graduate civil engineer, is the chief engineer, western division, of M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. During his 26 years' experience with the company, he has been involved in many con- ceptual and preliminary designs, and feasibility and parametric studies for marine vehicles of all types. He has served as program manager for many moderniza- tion, overhaul, and repair design projects for a wide variety of na- val and commercial ships. Mr.

Halpern is also a licensed P.E. in

New York State.
