Joins The Fleet (continued from page 41) four General Electric gas tur- bine jet engines, which together can produce more than 80,000 shp, Ticonderoga is capable of speeds in excess of 30 knots. Two controllable, reversible-pitch pro- pellers and twin rudders add flexibility and maneuverability.

The size of the crew has been substantially reduced from ear- lier ships of comparable size and war-fighting missions. Automa- tion and advanced technology in the propulsion, armament, and electronics systems, combined with support systems which re- quire minimum maintenance, per- mit a crew numbering 350 — 23 officers and 327 enlisted person- nel. The usual complement for other cruisers range from 434 to 500 personnel.

Amos Baki to the position of vice president of the corporation.

Mr. Baki is responsible for the conduct of contracts encompass- ing total ship design, systems analysis, fleet modernization management support, and eco- nomic analysis of marine sys- tems. This office is staffed with over 150 engineers, designers, and management specialists in support of NAVSEA, MSC, DOT, and other clients.

Mr. Baki joined M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. in March 1973 as manager of ship design and ma- rine economics, and subsequently was appointed assistant vice pres- ident and manager of the Wash- ington area branch in 1980. Pre- viously Mr. Baki spent eight years in various shipyard design offices including Furness Ship- building & Dry Dock, England;
