HARBOR PILOT/

TRAINING OFFICER

The incumbent is responsible for assisting pilots in the handling of vessels in confined waters us- ing tugs and vessel propulsion; works in close cooperation with Harbor Master and Pier Super- intendent to insure efficient and safe utilization of berths and moorings; schedules and provides training for all employees on seamanship and navigation; determines the safety factor in condi- tion and operation of all levels and floating equipment. Applicant must have an unlimited li- cense and United States Coast Guard certified and documented experience and background in seamanship plus five (5) years of working experi- ence at the progressively responsible level as a ship's deck office navigator. Annual salary range: $17,896 to $21,626. Free transportation, annual and sick leave and other benefits. Non- federal, two-year employment contract.
