Metro Machine Awarded $8.6-Million Navy Contract

For Overhaul Of Frigate

Metro Machine Corporation of

Norfolk has been awarded an $8,629,153 firm-fixed-price Navy contract for the overhaul of the frigate USS Truett (FF-1095). Work will be performed in Norfolk and is expected to be completed by Janu- ary 15, 1986. Contract funds would not have expired at the end of the current fiscal year. Ten bids were solicited and seven offers were re- ceived. The Naval Sea Systems

Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N62678-70-C- 0016).

Hakan Danielsson, president of Hiab Cranes & Loaders, Inc., has announced the relocation of the company's national sales, service, and parts headquarters to New Cas- tle, Del. Formerly based in York,

Pa., the Swedish-American firm is a pioneer in time- and labor-saving hydraulically operated folding knuckle-boom cranes and loaders.

Available in lifting capacities up to 22,000 pounds at a radius of 6 feet 3 inches (Model 2070A), Hiab cranes are offered in many models for marine, industrial, and truck ap- plications. The company has sold more than 15,000 cranes in the U.S. for a wide variety of lifting and load- ing/unloading operations.
