Responsibilities include: Employment of ships' crew, their training, upgrading and scheduling; bunkering vessels; periodic surveys for classifications; negotiation of com- mercial contracts with vendors for spare parts and supplies, including deck, engine and steward provisions; liaison with deck, engine and steward departments, which entails con- siderable travel between the ports of Tampa, Port Ca- naveral and Miami; supervision of all shipments to and from the vessels; negotiating settlement agreements under the terms and conditions of the Danish Sea Insurance Conven- tion (hull & machinery) including prosecution of all claims; budgetary supervision for vessels' operations; drydocking supervision and negotiation for applicable charges. Re- quirements: eight years experience in the job offered or two years managerial experience in marine purchasing and two years managerial experience in marine personnel and four years managerial experience in marine operations; Bache- lor in management or equivalent in terms of academic or work experience; must speak Danish, use telex, facsimile machine. 40 hours, 9:00 to 5:00 P.M ; $50,700/yr.
