Telecharge, Inc., Dallas, Texas, re- cently announced that a contract between the two organizations has been signed. ITI will provide

Watercom telephone subscribers with operator-assisted long distance services.

Watercom is the only direct- dialed Automatic Marine Tele- phone System (AMTS) serving the inland marine industry. Watercom already provides direct dial tele- communications services to com- mercial vessels operating along 4,000 miles of inland waterways, in- cluding the Ohio, Illinois, and Mis- sissippi rivers and the Gulf Intra- coastal Waterway. Other capabili- ties of the system include fax trans- mission and data services.

With the ITI service, Watercom subscribers will now be able to charge calls to all Bell calling cards,

VISA, MasterCard, American Ex- press, Discover, Carte Blanche, or

Diners Club credit cards or call col- lect.

The Shipbuilding and Metal Fab- rication Technology Conference will be held on October 4-5, 1988 at the

American Welding Society and their

Tidewater Section, will focus on new materials and technologies in the shipbuilding and metal fabrica- tion industries.

Geared for design engineers, ma- terials specialists, welding and in- dustrial engineers, tank fabricators, manufacturing supervisors, QA and

QC personnel, marine engineers and naval personnel, the conference will address four major areas of change in shipbuilding and metal fabrica- tion technology: new methods of construction/fabrication; new mate- rials in shipbuilding and fabrica- tion; process and control innova- tions in construction and fabrica- tion; and future directions of weld- ing and metal fabrication markets worldwide.
