Fairbanks Morse Engine Division recently announced the appoint- ment of Warren H. Martin to the position of director, parts sales and marketing.

Mr. Martin comes to Fairbanks

Morse Engine Division from the En- ergy Services Group of Cooper In- dustries in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. In the 10 years he served that company, he held the positions of inventory su- pervisor and product marketing manager, as well as parts sales man- ager for the Eastern region. He has extensive marketing and sales expe- rience in the parts area.

Todd-Seattle Awarded $26.7-Million Contract

For USS Chandler

H.K. Schaefer, president of

Todd Pacific Shipyards Corpora- tion, recently announced that the

Seattle Division has been awarded the Regular Overhaul (ROH) and "New Threat Upgrade" Navy con- tract for the USS Chandler (DDG- 996). The $26.7-million contract will commence August 25, 1989, and is scheduled to be completed August 31, 1990.

The Kidd-Class destroyer will be equipped with new anti-air warfare fire control systems which will pro- vide precise detection and tracking of "high-angle" anti-ship missiles, with which the Soviets' newest long- range naval bombers, the Backfire and Blackjack, are equipped. The contract will support an additional 350 jobs in the shipyard.
