U.S. Coast Guard Approves Simulator

Asignificant step has been taken to improve maritime safety and the protection of the environment by the U.S. Coast Guard.

RTM STAR Center has been granted approval by the Coast Guard to provide simulator-based testing.

Qualified mariners may now use simulator testing to demonstrate on-the-job skills required for an

Unlimited Master's License. Many feel this is the first step toward simulator-based testing at various levels.

Those who have experienced simulator training know it is an economical, safe way to gain years of sea time skills in one to two weeks of classroom training.

RTM STAR Center, the largest commercial simulator trainer in the U.S., offers over 30 courses utilizing bridge, engineroom, cargo handling and radar/ARPA simulators. There are specialized courses for mariners on tankers, tug-barges, workboats, and cruise ships.
