Coating Success Depends on Salt Removal

CHLOR*RID is a liquidI, available in a concentrate or ready to use DTS (Direct To Surface) formulation, that is commonly mixed with water to remove chlorides left from marine atmospheres. CHLOR*RID is all organic, non-hazardous, biodegradable and has no VOCs.

Testing by the Oregon DOT has shown that a water wash alone removes about 20-25% of the chlorides from surfaces, while adding

CHLOR *RID to the same water wash removes 90 to 95%, thereby reducing corrosion.

The product is typically used as part of surface preparation during painting/recoating operations.

CHLOR*RID DTS is a ready-to-use version of the product. Simply wet the surface to be cleaned thoroughly with DTS and rinse it off with water.

Also from CHLOR*RID Int., Inc. is

CHLOR *TEST, the latest state-of-the- art method of testing for chloride levels that is extremely user friendly and more accurate.

When Ybu Really Want

To Remove Salts

See what the experts say...

US Navy specifications require chlorides to be 3 micrograms/cm2 or less for immersion service. Chlorides in excess of that level have caused premature coating failure.
