Statoil’s Valemon oil ? eld is 160 km west of the Norwegian coast and is one of the international energy company’s largest development projects. The site contains recoverable reserves of 26 billion cu m of gas and 5 million cu m of condensate, which equates to over 1% of Norway’s gas reserves. Statoil will begin work this year to deploy an integrated control and safety system to enable remote operation 1% of the Valemon platform, running the entire operation from the existing Kvitebjørn platform.
