Midland Enterprises Inc

  • J.D. Geary, president of Midland Enterprises Inc., 1400 580 Building, Cincinnati, Ohio 45201, has announced the election of three corporate officers by the Midland board of directors.

    John M. Keelin has been elected controller, William J. Mayer assistant vice president of finance, and Thomas J. Weigand as treasurer.

    Mr. Keelin, formerly assistant controller, has been associated with Midland Enterprises four and one-half years. He joined Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates of Boston, Mass., in 1970 and was transferred to Midland Enterprises in 1972. Mr. Keelin holds a degree in accounting from Boston College.

    Mr. Mayer was corporate treasurer before being promoted to his new position, and has been with Midland Enterprises since 1969.

    He holds a degree from the University of Cincinnati.

    Mr. Weigand, formerly vice president and controller of Bailey Meter Company, has been named treasurer of Midland Enterprises Inc. Mr. Weigand is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in accounting.

    Midland Enterprises Inc. owns and operates a large fleet of towboats and barges operating on the inland waterways, plus other vessels and floating equipment.
