We are looking for Structural Welders and
Combo Welders at our Tacoma, WA yard: (Must have the ability to perform the es- sential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others.) •Complies with craft and shipyard safety and environmental measures •Wire welding – must be able to pass a
FCAW 3G and 4G with 052 wire prior to job offer •Performs maintenance, pre-testing, and repair to ensure the structural integrity •Performs welding, scrapping, burning and grinding as required •Ability to do general cutting, scrapping, burning, and cleanup •Carbon arc gouging for cleanup and weld preparation •Ability to read blueprints and/or sketches, recognizing welding symbols. •Ability to multiply fractions and decimals as required for use in metric and decimal conversions and measurements •Ability to communicate effectively as re- quired for the position
Minimum Work Environment Requirements: •Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to current or daily job duties •Be fit for a respirator •Carry up to 65 pounds continually, and up to 75 pounds occasionally •Constantly climb stairs and ladders, up to 200 rungs/steps per hour •Performs sustained work at various heights, including, but not limited to 100 feet •Access confined spaces •Work from one position, seated for 45 minutes, or standing for 2 hours at a time •Walk to, from and between assigned work areas through out scheduled shift •Bend, twist, kneel, and reach constantly •Endure noise, fumes, dust and inclement weather •Work overtime as needed to meet pro- duction demands
