INDUSTRY WEATHERS HURRICANE ISAAC When Isaac moved into Louisiana in late August, 509 of the 596 oil production platforms and 50 of the 76 drilling rigs in the Gulf were evacuated, according to the federal Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement or BSEE. Barousse said ?vessels were on standby during and after the hurricane as the GOM was evacuated, but that doesn?t mean companies were shut down.
