Holcomb is a registered professional engineer (PE) and brings more than two de- cades of naval architecture experience to his new position. He holds a MSE in naval architecture and marine engi- neering and applied mechanics from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. Moore Joins Jeppesen Terrence Moore joined Jeppesen as Senior Manager, Commercial Ma- rine Sales. Moore will be responsible for sales related to the companyÕs full suite of navigation, vessel efÞ ciency and optimization solutions, including JeppesenÕs Vessel and Voyage Optimi- zation Solution (VVOS), FleetMan- ager and other innovative technolo- gies. Most recently, Moore served as Director of Business Development for AEP River Operations. Mund Joins AdvanTec Licensed Professional Engineer and Naval Architect Andrew Mund has been named AdvanTec MarineÕs Technical Director. His early career was spent as a naval architect. He rose through the ranks at several shipbuild- ing companies, eventually founding his own company, where, until joining AdvanTec Marine, he served as manag- ing director. Mund will work from Ad- vanTec MarineÕs Gulf Coast sales and design ofÞ ces near Mobile, Alabama. Willard Marine Appoints Hunter Willard Marine appointed Taylor Hunter as director of sales. Hunter will assume overall responsibility for the companyÕs sales in the U.S. and internationally. He will be based in Willard MarineÕs corporate ofÞ ces in Anaheim, Calif. Port of New Orleans Elects Packer The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans elected Daniel F. Packer chairman. He succeeds Joseph F. Toomy. Toomy will continue to serve as a commissioner. Gregory R. Rusov- ich will take over as vice chairman and Scott H. Cooper will serve as secretary- treasurer. Packer earned a bachelorÕs degree in business from Charter Oaks College and a masterÕs degree in busi- ness administration from Tulane Uni- versity and served in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Program from 1969 to 1975. Packer retired from Entergy in 2007. Nunez Honored for STEM Achievements Huntington Ingalls Industries an- nounced that Ivette Nunez, a systems CohenFotiHolcombJonesCrowley Maritime Corpora- tion awarded three Thomas B. Crowley, Sr., Memorial schol- arships to California Maritime Academy students Andrew Leonard, Jeff Harcq and James McSweeney during the 2013 Containerization and Intermo- dal Institute?s Connie Awards dinner. Crowley Training Spe- cialist Victoria Ellis presented the scholarships at the event. Leonard, a native of Glendale, Arizona, serves as the residen- tial assistant for his freshman class. When Harcq applied to Cal Maritime, he had already obtained his 50-ton master?s license and had more than 10 years experience as a mechan- ic for the Correct Craft boat dealer in Sand Diego. He has set his sights on the tug indus-try. McSweeney?s path to Cal Maritime includes time spent as a deckhand aboard a shing boat in Alaska.
