PEOPLE & COMPANY NEWS TSGI Continues To Expand The Shearer Group, Inc. (TSGI) announced Þ ve new additions to its naval architecture and marine engi- neer practice near Houston. Joshua Sebastian, P.E., Engineer Manager, Michael Capitain, Naval Architect, Ronald Sikora, Designer, Jacqueline Ellis, Designer, and Jo Ann Pitzer, Ad- ministrative Assistant have all joined the Þ rm. Sebastian graduated in 1999 from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a degree in Naval Architecture/ Marine Engineering. Capitain gradu- ated in 2008 from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. in Naval Ar- chitecture and Marine Engineering. Ellis obtained her Associates Degree in Applied Science from San Jacinto College in 2012. Zervas Joins Seakeeper Gyro stabilization system manufac- turer Seakeeper has appointed Kevin Zervas as global service manager. Zer- vas has 20 years of marine industry experience in management and ser-vice positions. For Seakeeper, he will oversee a global team of technicians, continue to enhance service training programs, and expand the companyÕs superior customer support via key partners, distributors and dealers. NG Names Mehltretter Northrop Grumman Corporation has appointed Robert J. Mehltretter as vice president of Navigation and Posi- tioning Systems (NAPS) business unit. Mehltretter joined the company in 1982 and has held a variety of techni- cal and program leadership positions. URS Appoints Engle National Director URS Corporation has named Gary Engle its National Director of the Fed- eral Business Line for Infrastructure & Environment. A URS Senior Vice Pres- ident, Mr. Engle joined the company in January 2007 following a 28-year military career. A Rear Admiral, Civil Engineer Corps, U.S. Navy (Retired), Engle currently serves as National President of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Design-Build Insti- tute of America (DBIA). He holds a masterÕs degree in civil engineering from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Carnegie MellonÕs Ad- vanced Management Program. Muller, Witte in ISU Leadership Roles Leendert Muller, managing director of leading towage and salvage special- ist Multraship, has been appointed the new president of the International Salvage Union (ISU). Muller, who has been a member of the ISU Executive Committee since 2008, and vice-pres- ident since 2011, succeeds Andreas Tsavliris, who will continue as a mem- ber of the ISU Executive Committee. Additionally, John A Witte Jr, of Don- jon Marine Co Inc in the US, was con- Þ rmed as vice-president of the ISU. Wagner Elected to Boards MTN managing director of yacht services, Derik Wagner, has joined the Boards of the U.S. Superyacht Asso- ciation (USSA) and International Su- peryacht Society (ISS). ZervasEngleMullerMehltretterJesse M. CalhoonThe Marine Engineers? Bene cial Association (M.E.B.A.) sadly announced that Jesse M. Calhoon, the M.E.B.A.?s longest serving President who is widely credited with ushering the Union into the modern era, died on Tuesday October 22. He was 90 years old. Calhoon served as a powerful and visionary leader, and a tough negotiator who employers viewed as a formidable but trustworthy adversary. His dynamic service as M.E.B.A.?s top executive and Chairman of the Board of Trustees spanned over 20 years and six U.S. Presidencies. Wages and bene ts for members rose dramatically during his tenure. By 1949, Jesse had worked his way up to Chief Engineer. In 1954, Jesse began his climb up the political ladder in M.E.B.A., eventually reaching its top rung as President.
