When purchased, CDD had two ? oating dry docks which could ac- commodate repairs to vessels 262 feet long, 54 feet wide and up to 1500 tons. Work included tugs and tow boats, commercial tour and passen- ger vessels, pleasure boats and barges of all types, but of standard sizes.
Unfortunately, CDD couldn’t service the 300-footers – frustrating because
CDD staff, long familiar with region- al and equipment markets, knew the demand was out there.
