Marinite-23 can put the Navy at ease. Firesafe bulkhead panels are easy to handle. Less expensive to install, when standard commercial methods are used. We think Marinite-23 is a pretty special product. And many naval architects agree. For good reasons. They've found Marinite-23 ship interiors offer complete fire safety, effective sound control, good looks. And need only minimum maintenance. Made of asbestos fiber, diatomaceous silica and an inorganic binder, Marinite-23 is the lightest approved B-15 bulkhead panel available. It cuts and handles easily. Can be erected by standard com-mercial methods. And allows complete design flexibility, depending on decorative finish used?colored marine veneers or melamine plastics. In case of fire, Marinite-23 really proves its superiority. It con-tains flame, adding critical extra time for shipboard control. Marinite-23 meets the strict fire test standards for bulkheads, which specify that the product be capable of preventing flame passage for half an hour. And its in-sulation value must be such that the original temperature on the unexposed side must not rise more than 250° within 15 minutes. For painted out areas, use Marinite-36. It also meets these rigid bulkhead requirements. For more information on Marinite and our other marine products, write Johns-Manville, Box 14, New York.N.Y. 10016. Also available in Canada.
