Captain McVay Named Vice President Of Moran Towing & Transportation

Capt. Russell G. McVay, harbor operations manager of the Moran Towing & T r a n s p o r t a t i o n Co., Inc., was elected vice president of the company by the board of directors, it was announced by Thomas E. Moran, president.

A specialist in tug/barge operations, Captain McVay served in Moran's offshore tugs in 1965. In 1969, he was assigned managerial duties with Moran in Baltimore.

Transferred in 1973 to Moran's headquarters in One World Trade Center, New York City, he was appointed manager of the Seaboard Shipping Company, a Moran oil barge transportation subsidiary.

Captain McVay's appointment as harbor operations manager for Moran Towing & Transportation in 1978 included operational responsibility for all Moran harbor tugs and oil barges throughout the Greater Port of New York, Long Island Sound, and adjacent waterways.
