RHG-Houston Enters U.S. Survey Market

In its efforts to provide complete, competitive electronic systems and services to the multifaceted marine industry, the Radio Holland Group (RHG)-Houston is now providing leasing, sales and service of survey equipment and sales.

RHG was recently appointed exclusive U.S. commercial marine equipment sales and service representative for Honeywell-ELACNautick GmbH, Kiel, Germany.

One of the unique Honeywell- ELAC survey instruments the Radio Holland Group is now supplying to the survey industry is the LAZ 4100 portable, dual frequency, hydrographic echosounder. At less than 40 pounds, this affordable, rugged, precise, compact unit is designed for commercial survey and scientific research from inflatables and small boats to full-size professional survey vessels in waters to depths up to 315 meters. It is easy to carry and completely self-contained with stowage for the transducer, cables and supporting pipe. This makes it one of the only truly portable units on the market today.

The LAZ 4100 allows for single and dual frequency operation at 35 kHz and 200 kHz. It is ideal for hydrography, site surveying, exploration, dredging, cable laying, and fairway and harbor surveying in coastal areas, harbors, channels, rivers and lakes. The unit's built-in digitizer provides RS 232 C output for easy PC data post-processing accurate to 0.25 percent of the selected scale range.

Other features include a remote event marker, continuously adjustable paper speeds, tide and draft adjustment, speed of sound indicator, three depth-range scales, and an optional aluminum transport case.
