Seatrain Appoints Magee To New Executive Post
Seatrain Lines, Inc., Weehawken, N.J., has announced the appointment of Peter Magee to the newly created position of vice president and general manager for its North Atlantic Container Division. Mr. Magee will assume overall responsibility for the company's European-related container operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
John Lamar, president of Seatrain's Atlantic Container Division, in making the announcement stated: "By centralizing our container operations in these areas we can concentrate on meeting the needs of each individual shipper and their day-today requirements." Prior to assuming his present position, Mr. Magee was vice president and general manager of the South Atlantic and Gulf Services of the Atlantic Container Division. He joined Seatrain in 1975 as vice presidentoperations, Atlantic Service, from the Hertz Corporation where he had been vice president-operations for the Truck Division.
Seatrain Lines, Inc. is a containership operator, a shipbuilder, and transports petroleum products.
The company maintains operations in North America, Europe, the Far East and Middle East. It is engaged in port management in the Middle East through its Seatrain Gulf Services, and in freight management through Seatrain Agencies. With the acquisition of Pride Refining, Inc. last year, Seatrain extended its activities into the refining and distribution of petroleum products.
