  • Centrico, Inc., Northvale, N.J.,offers a Westfalia automatic self-cleaning oil purifier designed to remove impurities and water from heavy fuel oil, thus improving engine performance and preventing engine breakdown.

Westfalia automatic oil purifiers, which are being increasingly specified for use on oceangoing and service vessels, incorporate self-cleaning disc-type bowls designed for optimum oil-water separation even when oil characteristics and feed rates change. Purifier models are available with rated capacities up to 26,000 liters/hour (115 gpm), but actual throughput depends on viscosity, specific gravity and other properties of the oil.

Centrico has supplied Westfalia purifiers to the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, U.S. Coast Guard, and the Canadian Coast Guard.
