Webb Elects Officers To Governing Board— Bryan Named President

Webb Institute of Naval Architecture in Glen Cove, N.Y., the oldest four-year naval architecture undergraduate institution in the U.S. developed solely to the education of future naval architects and marine engineers, has announced the election of the following officers of the Institute's governing board: Chairman—C. Larry French Jr., chairman of the board and CEO of National Steel and Shipbuilding Company; vice chairman—William N. Johnston, president and chairman of the board, American Bureau of Shipping; vice chairman— Charles G. Visconti, president and chairman of the board, International Cargo Gear Bureau, Inc.; secretary— Dr. James J. Coti, vice president, Polytechnic Institute of New York; treasurer—Ran Hettena, president, Maritime Overseas Corporation; president—Vice Adm.

The board and elected officers reaffirmed the Institute's commitment to "making the best even better" and to continue Webb's mission of providing high-quality education, with a strong professional orientation, to prepare young men and women for rewarding careers in the maritime and associated industries.
