Seminar O n Shipping F r a u d Prevention Slated For N e w York June 2 6 - 27

The recent growth of shipping fraud has been almost staggering.

Certainly the threat that such frauds pose to individual companies— whether shippers, shipowners, brokers, freight forwarders, insurers, or bankers—is very real and worrying.

In May last year the United Kingdom's Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers held in London the first seminar of fraud prevention, attracting wide European support and interest. On June 26-27 this year, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York, the Institute will hold the second international seminar in cooperation with the Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (USA) Inc. This seminar will study both the problem and the ways in which managements can best prevent their companies from being unwittingly involved in these financially damaging international swindles.
