Kurz Interests And Moran Shipping Agencies Organize New Agency

Moran Kurz Shipping Agencies, Inc., based in the World Trade Center in New York City, will be formed by Moran Shipping Agencies, Inc. of New England, and the Kurz interests of Philadelphia, Pa. The Kurz interests are owners of Kurz New York Agency, Inc., and Keystone Shipping Company. Moran Kurz will seek and develop new tanker ship husbanding business in the New York port area.

F. Robert Black will be president of Moran Kurz. Mr. Black is also president of Moran Shipping Agencies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Moran Transportation Industries, Providence, R.I.

According to Mr. Black, Moran Kurz will operate as ships' agent throughout ports in metropolitan New York, north to Albany and south to Raritan, N.J. Kurz New York Agency, Inc., will maintain its present identity to service existing accounts and provide support to Moran Kurz.

"The creation of Moran Kurz is one of the most significant expansions for the Moran Shipping Agencies," said Mr. Black. "The New York office will support the steamship agency services we now provide at 32 deepwater ports in New England. In conjunction with Moran Kurz and Moran Thibodeaux Shipping Agencies, Houston, Texas, the company can now handle more vessels from Gulf Coast ports to the Northeast," he concluded.

Founded in 1937, Moran Shipping Agencies of New England provides shipping agent services for tankers, LPG and LNG carriers, bulk and general cargo vessels and passenger ships.
