Oil Mop Elects Smith Vice President

Frederick L. Smith has been elected vice president of Oil Mop, Inc., it was announced by Kelvin J. Smythe, president and chief executive officer of the Belle Chasse, La.-based manufacturer of pollution control equipment.

Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969.

He was recently elected to a three-year term as a director of the Chamber of Commerce of the New Orleans area. In his new position, he will be responsible for United States sales and services for Oil Mop. He succeeds Edgar M. Rea I I I , who has resigned to become president of Oil Mop of Lafayette, Inc., a service company jointly owned by Oil Mop, Inc. and Central Equipment Rentals, Inc., a Lafayette, La.-based company specializing in oil field equipment and testing.

Oil Mop, Inc., P.O. Drawer P, Belle Chasse, La. 70037, manufactures equipment and systems for the recovery of oil from the surface of water and oil/water separators for use in ships' bilges and ballast tanks, and in the treatment of industrial coastal waters. It is also a service contractor for the cleanup of oil spills, and operates in this capacity on a nationwide and worldwide basis.
