Savannah Machine And Shipyard Names Carlon

F. Steven Carlon has been employed by Savannah Machine and Shipyard Co. of Savannah, Ga., in the position of contracting sales engineer for the industrial steel fabrication division, as announced by David H. Green, executive vice president.

Mr. Carlon graduated from Virginia Military Institute as a civil engineer.

He was formerly with Bethlehem Steel Corporation of Bethlehem, Pa., in several positions in the engineering sales area.

From 1963 through 1967, he was contracting manager of all fabricated structural steel, platework and transmission tower contracts.

During 1968 and early 1969, Mr. Carlon was assigned as a plant manager in a subsidiary company and was subsequently assigned to the New York City area, responsible for contracts and sales on heavy highway and building projects in New York City, New York State and New Jersey.

Mr. Carlon joined Diamond Manufacturing Company of Savannah, where he was assigned marketing and sales responsibility on cranes, barges, lighters and general marine work.

He is active in civic, church and youth groups in Savannah.
