Dillingham Ship Repair Names Charles Carter And Cliff Pritchard

Charles E. Carter has been named chief contract administrator at Dillingham Ship Repair, Portland, Ore., according to John Sutherland, vice president and general manager.

Formerly senior estimator, ship repair, at Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. (Newport News, Va.), Mr. Carter will replace Karl Sloan, who recently retired from Dillingham.

A veteran of 16 years in the shipbuilding business, Mr. Carter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, Va., and was graduated as a hull designer from the apprentice school at Newport News. Mr. Carter is a member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.

Cliff F'ritchard, formerly chief estimator, ship repair division, Lockheed Shipbuilding (Seattle, Wash.), has been named contract administrator at Dillingham Ship Repair. Mr. Pritchard replaces Mr. Carter.

Mr. Pritchard was previously with VMD, and with Yarrows, Ltd., both in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

A marine engineering graduate of Birkenhead Technical College, Birkenhead, England, Mr. Pritchard also completed the apprentice program at Cammell-Lairds Shipbuilding & Repair Company, Merseyside, England. He is a member of both Columbia River and Puget Sound chapters of the Society of Port Engineers.
