International Paint Enters Commercial Agreement With Nippon Paint Co.

International Paint Company, New York, N.Y., has announced that the International Paint Group, the world's largest marine coatings manufacturers, has entered into a technical and commercial agreement for marine paint with the Nippon Paint Company of Osaka, Japan, the largest paint manufacturer in Japan.

The association between International Paint and Nippon Paint means that shipowners will be able to rely on having available throughout the world high quality products based on the integrated technologies of two of the world's largest and most experienced marine paint companies.

Furthermore, the supply of these products will be backed by the technical service capability and the combined strength of International and Nippon working together in a complete partnership.

The association between the two companies will formally come into operation on May 1, 1977.

However, both companies have already started working closely together, and particular emphasis has been placed on preparatory technical work.

The availability of a worldwide service network able to supply known and tested high-quality products throughout the world has also become important to Japanese shipowners as more of their vessels trade and drydock outside Japan.

With this new association, shipowners and shipyards can be assured of obtaining the same high-quality materials and excellent service in Japan as is true in all other countries throughout the world.
