Cummins is organized into four distinct but complementary business units: Cummins Engine Business, Cummins Power Generation Business, The Components Business and Cummins Distribution Business. The Case:
Founded in 1919, the company has evolved into global power leader with more than $17 billion in sales in 2013. Cummins’ propulsion line includes the mechanical K and N Series and the electronic Quantum Series. Cummins also offers both mechanical and electronic auxiliary products to meet customer needs in terms of power, emissions requirements and incentives, sociability, available supply of quality fuel, monitoring and data requirements and fleet standardization. Additionally, every major component of a C Power generator set, including the engine, alternator and control system, is either designed and manufactured or integrated by divisions of the Cummins family. Cummins offers a complete line of propulsion, generating set and auxiliary power solutions designed specifically for commercial marine applications, from inland river to offshore. Its products are supported at every major port by an international distributor network with more than 1,500 locations worldwide.
